Sisal Tannin Stain Reducer

The world's first dedicated sisal stain reducer. A professional stain treatment for red wine and other tannin stains on sisal and other cellulosic plant-fibre floorcoverings like jute, seagrass etc.

The problem it solves

Cellulosic fibres such as sisal, jute and seagrass contain natural lignin and tannins. When they get wet, from a spill, a leak or over-wet cleaning, the lignin wicks to the surface as the fibre dries and leaves brown rings and patches. Ordinary spotters and extra water often make it worse. This reducer is formulated specifically to lighten and reduce those tannin stains.

Why professionals use it

• Built for cellulosic fibres. It grew out of sisal restoration methods developed for the trade.
• No blotting. A fine mist is applied and then accelerated and dried, avoiding the agitation that can cause colour loss on sisal.
• Mildly acidic (pH 4.5).

Directions for use

1. Test on a small (coin size) part of the stain first.
2. Apply a light mist to the stain only. Shield the surrounding fibres with a card or cotton towel, as overspray beyond the edges can leave a halo. Do not over-wet: over-application may cause colour loss.
3. Dry the treated area with a hairdryer on warm for about 5 minutes. Keep it moving. Do not blot or rub.
4. Allow the spot to dry fully before judging the result. Damp fibres look darker than dry ones.
5. Repeat steps 2–4 if needed, letting the spot dry fully between applications. Stubborn stains require multiple applications.
